War and Peace
A human mind will never be able to accept the horrors of war and its consequences. Nevertheless war is the work of human hands.
In my project, I use the art of collage. I juxtapose photos, taken at the exhibition of military equipment in Novosibirsk in August 2020, and the images from my daily life over the past two years, taken on my phone.
I think about the happiness to live under a peaceful sky. We rarely cherish the simple moments, the beauty of our planet and the everyday life. Often we realize how happy we were only when the war begins.
My Impressions from the arms exhibition lead to conflicting thoughts. On the one hand, strong weapons demonstrate the strength and power of a country, the ability to protect citizens from a threat of attack. The latest military innovations are a pride of any state. On the other hand, I understand that all these machines are instruments of death designed to take a human life. I try to imagine how many resources have been spent on creating this equipment that can destroy all life in an instant, and the sense of the absurdity of human actions does not leave me.
I can only hope that these weapons will never be used.
